Automatic Laboratory Precision Saw

SMART CUT® 6018 Automatic Laboratory Precision Saw is a highly advanced cutting machine designed to deliver precise, efficient results for a variety of materials. With a variable speed range from 500 to 3,000 RPM, this saw can be adjusted to suit the specific requirements of the material being cut. Whether working with PCB boards, glass, ceramics, composites, or metals up to 30mm OD, electronic components, or mounting samples, the machine offers exceptional versatility and performance.

The machine features an intuitive touch screen control that provides a clear display with an organized layout for easy navigation. This user-friendly interface allows for full control over settings, making it simple to adjust parameters for different applications. The cutting feed can be controlled either through the blade feed or cutting table feed, depending on the material being processed or user preference. This flexibility ensures optimal cutting performance for various types of samples.

Equipped with programmable parameters, the SMART CUT® 6018 allows users to set the machine to cut automatically according to the predefined settings. This feature eliminates the need for constant supervision, ensuring consistent results with every cut.

The machine also features an advanced cooling system, an external stainless steel circulating filter cooling water tank that combines 80% water and 20% cutting fluid. This system helps prevent overheating of the sample surface while protecting critical components like the rail and ball screw from rust and damage.

Machine Structure Overview

The SMART CUT® 6018 is equipped with a well organized cutting platform designed for safe, accurate, and stable operation. Each component plays a defined role in cutting control, sample handling, cooling, or machine protection.

Cutting Table

SMART CUT® 6018 has a wide range of sizes and shapes with ultra-flexible and movable T-slot table.

The cutting table in this machine allows you both ultra-precision and flexibility for a wide range sizes and shapes. You are able to section large and deep workpieces 415(L) x 30(W) x30(H)mm. minimum material thickens: 5mm

maximum material thickness: 30mm The table has 8 mm t-slots and you can choose between a wide range of clamping tools to find just the right fit for your cut and the highest degree of precision. The machine comes with vertical clamp and standard vice as pictured here already included into the price of the machine

SMART CUT® 6018 Control Panel

SMART CUT® 6018 control panel gives you direct control of all cutting functions for accurate and repeatable sectioning. The interface is designed to help you set up each cut quickly and manage every step of the process with confidence.

Motor On – Starts spindle rotation. The coolant pump activates at the same time to protect the blade and the material.

Motor Off – Stops spindle rotation and stops coolant flow. Used before adjustments, maintenance, or blade changes.

Cut – Initiates automatic cutting based on the programmed parameters for feed speed, spindle speed, and Y axis travel.

Stop -. Ends the cutting cycle at any stage of operation.

Fast Return – Moves the spindle back to the starting position. Reduces idle time between cuts.

Cut and Return – Starts the cutting cycle and returns the spindle to the starting position automatically when the cut is complete. Improves workflow efficiency during repeated operations.

Parameter Setting Interface

The Parameter Setting Interface allows you to control all variables that affect cutting performance and consistency. Each value is entered through a clear numerical panel that gives you accurate and repeatable input.

Motor Speed (RPM).- Sets the spindle rotation speed. The numerical field opens the input panel for entering the required value.

Feed Speed (mm per minute) – Sets the cutting speed along the Y axis. The numerical field opens the input panel for entering the required value.

Y Axis Travel (mm) – Defines the total automatic cutting distance. The numerical field opens the input panel for entering the required value.

Save Button – Stores the current parameters under a selected process number. Up to ten parameter sets can be stored and recalled when needed.

Call Button – Retrieves a previously saved parameter group based on the selected process number.

Up Arrow-  Moves the spindle forward during manual positioning.

Down Arrow – Moves the spindle backward during manual positioning.

Pause Button. Stops spindle movement while in Auto mode.

Auto Mode – Enables automatic spindle movement and automatic cutting. The system stops at the programmed travel limit or when the Pause button is pressed. Automatic cutting is possible only in this mode.

Inching Mode-  Activates incremental spindle movement. Each press of the arrow keys advances or retracts the spindle by a small fixed distance. This mode is recommended when the blade approaches within 5 mm of the sample.

Pump On – Activates coolant flow.

Pump Off – Stops coolant flow. Also used during cleaning.

SMART CUT® Coolants

Your choice of one (1) quart of SMART CUT® Water Soluble Coolant or Mineral Oil is included with machine. SMART CUT® Water Soluble Coolant Reduces material thermal stress, edge damage, and internal cracking, increases blade life, provides better cut quality, preserves material micro structure

Hence, assuring long-term integrity of material being sectioned. Since SMART CUT coolant is both a coolant and lubricant, both the wafering blade and material benefit. Mix ratio is 1:20 (1 part coolant, 20 parts water) on very hard and dense materials and 1:40 (1 part coolant, 40 parts water) on softer materials. Depending on mix ratio 1 quart will produce 5.7 to 9 gallons of coolant when mixed with water. As a coolant, SMART CUT KOOL reduces heat caused by friction. As a lubricant, SMART CUT KOOL lowers friction and surface tension, which increases swarf dispersion

LARGEST SELECTING OF DIAMOND & CBN WAFERING BLADES AVAIALBLE

one (1) diamond wafering blade any specification is included FREE OF CHARGE with purchase of any machine (any specification). we have almost unlimited number of diamond & CBN wafering blade specifications in stock available for immediate delivery. Available in different sizes, thickness, arbor sizes, diamond concentrations, diamond mesh sizes, and bond hardness’s. With several thousand unique blade specification in stock not listed on our standard stock program. This insures you will receive the best blade specification possible for your specific application.

THE RIGHT DRESSING STICK FOR YOUR APPLICATION

One (1) dressing stick is included with the purchase of any machine free of charge. The dressing stick we supply is similar to the diamond size of the wafering blade you have chosen (or we recommended) for your application. Wafering Blades must be diamonds particles/crystals exposed properly through frequent dressing. Otherwise, the diamond tool will glaze over. They will begin to tear rather than grind which is very destructive. Tearing caused from unexposed diamonds creates friction. This causes uneven wear and/or heat cracks in the wafering blade and/or material being cut. Resulting in premature blade wear, blade tensioning problems, and will eventually destroy the blade. The more frequently the blade is dressed the freer and cooler it will cut with lot more consistency.
