The Automatic Extra-Large Heavy-Duty Cutting Machine is specifically designed for precision sectioning of petrography samples and other large materials. Its robust construction, featuring an integral sliding door system, ensures operator safety while accommodating large-envelope material handling. This machine offers an impressive cutting capacity of up to 150 mm diameter, powered by a 15 HP (11 kW), 3-phase AC motor. Its variable speed control ranges from 100 to 3000 RPM, making it suitable for a wide variety of materials and cutting requirements.
The system incorporates a state-of-the-art cooling setup with a multi-level recirculating coolant tank that has a 200-liter capacity. A 0.3 kW pump ensures efficient coolant circulation, maintaining lower temperatures during operations, thereby prolonging tool life and enhancing cut quality. The cutting mechanism supports a range of precision techniques, including pulse cutting, step cutting, and jog cutting, delivering consistent and repeatable results.
Automation is a key feature, with a servo-driven “Y” axis for precise movement and manual ergonomic handles for “X” and “Z” axis adjustments. The machine supports cut-off wheels with a diameter of up to 20 inches (500 mm), ensuring compatibility with larger-scale applications. Its user-friendly design includes a PLC-based touchscreen interface with pre-set programs for streamlined operation. The workspace is illuminated with waterproof LED lights, providing excellent visibility during the cutting process. Safety is prioritized with a door interlock system to prevent unauthorized access during operation.
The machine measures 2100 mm in length, 2200 mm in width, and 2300 mm in height, with an adjustable cutting table featuring a robust T-slot design for flexible material placement and clamping. It comes equipped with standard accessories such as a door safety interlock system, an auto wash feature for convenient cleaning, and manual cleaning tools for coolant management.
Optional upgrades include automation for the “Z” axis movement, a laser line marking system for precise alignment, height adjustment kits for additional flexibility, and a job lifting hoist to simplify the handling of large, heavy samples. This cutting machine combines reliability, precision, and user convenience, making it the ideal solution for laboratories and industrial applications requiring high-quality sectioning of large petrography samples and other materials.

Hence, assuring long-term integrity of material being sectioned. Since SMART CUT coolant is both a coolant and lubricant, both the wafering blade and material benefit. Mix ratio is 1:20 (1 part coolant, 20 parts water) on very hard and dense materials and 1:40 (1 part coolant, 40 parts water) on softer materials. Depending on mix ratio 1 quart will produce 5.7 to 9 gallons of coolant when mixed with water. As a coolant, SMART CUT KOOL reduces heat caused by friction. As a lubricant, SMART CUT KOOL lowers friction and surface tension, which increases swarf dispersion.

One (1) dressing stick is included with the purchase of any machine free of charge. The dressing stick we supply is similar to the diamond size of the wafering blade you have chosen (or we recommended) for your application. Wafering Blades must be diamonds particles/crystals exposed properly through frequent dressing. Otherwise, the diamond tool will glaze over. They will begin to tear rather than grind which is very destructive. Tearing caused from unexposed diamonds creates friction. This causes uneven wear and/or heat cracks in the wafering blade and/or material being cut. Resulting in premature blade wear, blade tensioning problems, and will eventually destroy the blade. The more frequently the blade is dressed the freer and cooler it will cut with lot more consistency.
