SMART CUT™ Diamond discs are used for a wide variety of applications, including rough and fine grinding of lapidary work where precision is required. A controlled concentration of diamond bonded onto a precision 3/8” thick aluminum backing plate, ensures consistent grinding and surface finishes. Available in a wide range of mesh sizes. All disc have a standard 1/2” arbor hole. Solid Steel Diamond Laps are sturdy precision ground diamond plated laps. These laps are extremely durable and recommended only for commercial faceting machines.

SMART CUT™ channel / ripple diamond discs have a textured surface which allows for more contact of the diamond surface since debris is whisked away through the channels. These laps come standard with a pre attached aluminum master lap.

SMART CUT™ No Hole Laps are full faced diamond discs. They are backed with a 6" master lap that has a 1/4"-20 screw. These laps are used in conjunction with the CabKing unit as endpieces for grinding flats on cabochons. They can also be used on the appropriate horizontal cabbing and lapping units.

SMART CUT™ Bull's-Eye Laps are an excellent choice for applications that do not need a lot of grinding or polishing surface area.
If you are using laps just for grinding small stones these will suit you fine.
SMART CUT™ Master Lap is a precision ground 8m thick high grade aluminum disc. Lower quality backing plates will cause your machines to vibrate.
These aluminum bases are the most precise in the industry. This lap is used primarily as a base for the diamond laps.
SMART CUT™ Copper Lap. Copper laps are affordable, high quality discs used to polish all kinds of stone. They are 1/8" copper with 1/4" aluminum base.
Simply charge the lap with diamond paste or diamond powder and begin polishing. These laps do not need to be scored.
SMART CUT™ Ceramic Lap affordable, high quality discs used to polish hard stones like sapphire.
SMART CUT™ Star & Cab Lap are affordable, high quality discs used to polish cabs. Just charge the lap with diamond powder or paste and begin polishing.
The Star Lap has two different channels to accommodate for various sized cabs.
SMART CUT™ Star Laps often feature a textured or grooved surface pattern resembling a "star" shape, designed to improve the effectiveness of polishing. The grooves allow for better distribution of polishing compounds like diamond paste or powder and help maintain uniformity in the polishing process.
SMART CUT™ Cab Laps are designed with a smooth, flat surface specifically tailored for polishing the domes of cabochons. They provide even pressure across curved surfaces, which is essential for achieving a flawless polish on rounded shapes.
